The Apostle St Paul was beheaded in this small spot between an abbey and a (now) church. πΌπ» The cream building called the Scala Cceli was Paul’s last prison. π’ The top floor is now a church, ⛪️ while the basement holds the original cell. When we visited there were several nuns also visiting, praying, & singing.

Barnwood-Looking Plank Ceiling
I'll fill you all in on how my husband launched a second business called, "Dingewood." I'm releasing a glimpse this week, and I look forward to telling you how we went from a stain company to a wood company. I'm going to explain the good, the bad, and the ugly Thank you all for your love and support.

Fixer Upper and Weatherwood Stains
source |
You guys! I have been DIYing ;-) to share this news with your for the looongest time! Seriously, it's been killing me not to tell you. I'm rolling on the ground cycling my legs like an 80's aerobic video, that's how excited I am. So last year we heard from the designer at Magnolia Home [the home company that creates the Fixer Upper masterpieces] and they wanted to see our products! The stars were literally shining on us.
Chip & Joana Gains stars to be exact! Ironically we were in Texas at the time, so we were able go there and see the famed Magnolia store! You know, from Fixer Upper!

Rustic Cherry Kitchen Custom Reface
A lot of us have old, outdated cabinets and when they're in terrible physical shape, it's a no brainer. Replace the whole thing! But what do you do when the cabinets are solid wood or pretty new but ugly, not your style, or replacing is not in the budget? A cabinet reface is a great choice for any of those options. A reface can include either new doors & re-stained boxes or just re-staining both the doors and boxes. This cherry kitchen was a reface and it looks like 100% custom job now!

RV Farmhouse Makeover Mood Board
Hello, dear friends. I've been so excited to share my plans for our RV makeover and to show you what I have in mind. As I wrap up my time in Boston, I had a little time to put together these mood boards. I believe I'd mentioned, when I showed you the tour of our little traveling home, that my goal is to create the feel of a Tiny Home, while maintaining the practicalities of a RV.

Blog Crush: Ridiculously Stylish Child's Nursery
Ford's nursery is one of those spaces that are, frankly, so pretty you want to look at them again and again. The interior designer, Nicole Davis, is distinctly talented, yet her photographer, Ashlee Raubach, deserves a shout out as well and let's not forget the uber-stylish mom, Nicole. This precious family which inhabits this home, Mom, baby Ford, but sister, Presley and Dad.

Feature: Hey Natalie Jean's Manhatten Flat
Zack and I are still in Cali for business- and, may I say, we are killing it! It is thrilling to shout out to my virtual friends that we have been getting sales every single day this month!! Hooray! I look for the email announcing sales throughout the day, every day, and once it comes, I look for the next one. I am an email obsessed nutcase, because it means it is happening!! Sales! A business!

Instagram ▪Easy Change▪ Photo Plaques
Remember how I've been talking about the wood stain business I started? Yeah- I haven't brought it up in a couple months. And I don't know why- it's all I think about and work on [when I'm not blogging!] I thought I'd share one of the little plaques I stained awhile back. I was feeling guilty about the hundreds of Instagram photos I've taken- that only see the light of day for a few hours.

Blog Crush: "In the Fun Lane's" Dreamy Kitchen
Have you ever had a day where you feel like you're watching a life through a scrambled TV signal? For those of you who grew up in the 80's and before-- perhaps you remember white noise? And how it was comprised of thousands of black dots scrambling around, all the while your speakers blasted the most irritating noise. And it was all you could do to change the channel so you didn't have to hear it one minute longer.
Yeah.
That was pretty much my day.

➹Come and Walk Down my Hall [room reveal]➴
So, awhile ago, I made some knock off eye charts. For those of you that didn't get a chance to see them, here they are for your viewing pleasure. Go ahead, try to read the last line, I bet you can't do it! Seriously, go for it! Ok, if you can read it, cover up your right eye, how about now? Cover up your left eye, how about now... okay, if you passed that, you're some sort of a freak! I originally mimicked Restoration Hardware's {exorbitantly priced} art. Well, if you glance down the hall, you can take in all the glory of my master bed room.
I love this little walk down my hall, because it's like a little piece of me that makes it mine! All mine! This tiny space I had to fight for ;-) Sorry, that's the Irish girl coming out in me... ta he...
Come on down my hall, lets take a trip Mr. Roger's style. I am not sure what some of you might see, but this is a stroll down crafting memory lane for me. Why, just look at this comfy, padded headboard that was one of my very first projects.
On the right bedside table I have one of my favorite easy projects. It's another Restoration Hardware knock off, subway art of all my favorite hang out spots in my hometown- Boston. It's right next to a pair of new lamps I got on sale at Staples (of all places!). I was there for some more industrial prints- I use them to make art pieces- and found these swing arms lamps as well.
When I hop into bed each night, I throw my favorite union jack pillow with the sweet little ruffles that I sewed glued on myself onto the floor and fall fast asleep underneath some Anthro knock off, faux zinc letters.
And on our dresser, three more projects- my upcycled bee lampshade, my faux zinc mirror and one final eye chart project. Sigh... I love not paying full price, it puts a girl right to sleep.
➷ ➹via Does anyone remember my inspiration pic from way back when? I love the color scheme. It makes the room feel so warm - but it was a little too stuffy for me. |
I know our room isn't exactly, "my inspiration space," but geez, it's like that song Christina Agaluira song, "What a girl wants, What a girl needs." I'm holding my lighter app up high in the air, as I sing this, so feel free to join in. j/k... or am I?
I don't know if any of you have noticed, but I added a new knock off to my space. I will be back next week to show you how to save 500 bucks and make your own wall decor!
-xoxo-

➹10 Rad Redos: Kitchen Table Makeovers➷
Today, I had the craziest idea. I walked past my table and thought, “You are not the beauty I once thought you were.” To be fair, I found this table amongst many tables I longed for back in '04. It was tall, in a line of tall tables, but it stood higher than the rest. If it had a chin, it would have held it high, but these days it just seems to be too stinkin tall, too dark, too old.

and viola, I’m inspired! I think the last two are my favorites! With a little help from one of these redos, I may find a way to make my table hold its head high again. I smell I project coming on...
In the meantime, I'll be down in the trenches, planning, blueprinting, and designing this sucker, doing what it takes to make my table what it once was. Who knows? Maybe my table could actually tell me, “hat Willias was talkin’ bout,” if it could just find its voice again.
Thanks for reading, wps (will post soon).

✥ Succulents {Even Walmart Can Make Something Beautiful}✥
I could only think of one title for this post- I kept thinking about how even Walmart could sell something that would turn out beautiful!
I've been wanting to jump on the succulent train for awhile now- and just never seemed to have the time. Then Zack and I were grabbing some last minute camping stuffs and I saw these babies. I had this free vase/bowl thingy I got from my bro-in-law and thought it was perfect for these guys.
I had some potting soil on hand because I planted herbs this year- which were, by the way, super fantastic! If any of you are condo/apartment dwellers and are on the fence about a pot garden- jump off that fence and come on over to the bright side! It was so easy and I loooved having them on hand. That is, they were on hand until Zack and I went on a spur-of-the-moment four week vacation!! I am certain everything was fried by the UT son ages ago.
OK- long detour, now back to the succulents.
I potted my cute little plants and thought they looked kinda lonely in there. So I threw in some polished stones {I think they were from a fish tank we had a zillion years ago??}
and then called it a day!
This is just part of my master plan to beautiful my honey oak horror kitchen by giving my eye some beautiful vignettes to look at instead.
As a total PS- I think my landlord's wife reads my blog, so to her I say: thanks for reading and please don't be offended about my dislike for the kitchen cabinets!! {And wouldn't they look so totally rad and awesome painted white!?! ;-)
Hope the rest of you chicas are doing well!!

✥ Feature: Dreamy Child's Bedroom ✥
I am super stoked to share a room from one of my favorite blogs! I may even have a blog crush on this one- I can't help it, I just LOVE everything Holly does. Her home is beautiful, she refinishes furniture and she has great style- in clothes and decor. If you don't know her blog already- this on one not to miss. I promise!
This feature is kicking off 4 weeks of children's rooms features. I know a ton of you gals have kiddos, so I thought I should include some kiddo inspiration in these features!!
And here is the dramatic after!!
Doesn't it look so dreamy and soft?!?
Holly said that Wren's bedding created the color scheme for the room- meaning soft creamy whites and every shade of blue was welcome!
Holly painted this old waterfall dresser/changing table herself. Of course we all love the enamel numbers she added to the front.
I love the whimsy the colorful blue poofs add to the room! I think it reminds you it's a kid's space and to have some fun in there.
The antique cabinet is a real stand out piece and was store bought rather than repainted. I don't know if I would have seen it and had this vision in mind- but now I think it makes the space. Seems like a very expensive nursery- right?
What do you guys think? Too white for a kiddo's room? I have to side with Holly- in that children come with a ton of colorful accessories, toys, books and clothes- this is a perfect backdrop for all of that. Such a lovely space- not unlike the rest of her home- you should stop over and check out one of my all time favorite blogs! Make sure to tour her home renos page and don't miss Wren's new big girl room {I loooove her bed!}!
