Renovar Design: Mother's Day Printable

Hello From G2B readers!

This time it isn't Jenny from Renovar Design - it is her husband Marco. Jenny has been busier than usual - staying late at work plus, her 2 daughters (my step-daughters) were sick this past week so she asked me for some help with the monthly post for Becca's awesome reader's.

Renovar Design: Valentine's Balloon Messages

Hi guys! Hope the new year is treating you well! We have been very busy here over at Renovar Design! I can't believe it is February already, can you?! Time flies...

This month I am bringing you a project I did a few years ago for my girlies! It will be a picture heavy post & I hope you enjoy it!

I have two daughters who I refer to affectionately, yet anonymously, on the blog as Kid 1 and Kid 2 ♥

This was my Valentine's gift to my girls:

Renovar Design Valentine Balloon

I simply took scrapbook paper and cut them out in heart shapes. I used a hole punch to put a hole in a corner of each one. Randomly. I then wrote sentiments on them (see below) and tied them onto the string of the balloons.

Renovar Design Valentine 1

Therefore, each balloon had a heart on it.

Renovar Design Valentine 2

The hearts had their name & were numbered on one side.

Renovar Design Valentine 3

Each girlie had the number of hearts/balloons to coordinate with how many Valentine's Days they have been alive to celebrate. (Kid 1 - 13 and Kid 2 -9)

Renovar Design Valentine 4

I sent them on a search to read them in the order that I had wrote them. (ex. 1, then 2, then 3.)

Renovar Design Valentine 6

Each heart had a reason why I loved them. "Kid 2, I love you because..."

Renovar Design Valentine 5

They absolutely loved it!!!♥

Renovar Design Valentine 7

So did the cats!

Renovar Design Valentine 8

(Just because I thought it was adorable how here socks looked after a long day as a 4th graderl!)

Renovar Design Valentine 9

Then, Kid 2 re-purposed the balloons for a gift for me! ♥ (Yes, I cried!) ♥ (...because I am emotional like that.)

And because they both STILL talk about how much they loved it ~ I am doing it again this year! (Kid 1 - 16 & Kid 2 -12 & I have a new husband and will do how many Valentine's we have celebrated together -5) The hardest part is fitting ALL of the balloons in the car and hoping that they don't pop! I did buy 6 extra that year & only 1 had popped :) I just added blank hearts onto those to add to the fun of the "hunt" for their names! Having so many balloons to buy this year ~ I may have to make 2 trips to Party City ~ but I think it will be so worth it!!
Have you done a unique Valentine's project with your family? Becca and I would LOVE (←intentional pun) to hear about what you did!
Hope you all enjoy Valentine's Day with your loved ones & I look forward to sharing a post again in March!

Contributor Huckleberry Love: Crochet Baby Duck Easter Hat

Let's welcome the second contributor post from the lovely ladies at Huckleberry Love, but the first post from Jamie. Remember, these four gals run a blog together and Jamie is their resident crochet expert.  Heaven knows I've never been able to crochet a thing in my life, so let's thank Jamie for bringing a new skill to this blog and I hope I can pick up a little something in the meantime, because I would love to make this little crochet duck hat!

DIY CHRIST Easter Photo Plaques

Easter is almost here! I know we have Saint Patrick's day first, but isn't it exciting that the day of resurrection is right around the corner. I mean just think of that! Death was conquered on that day.

Faux Bois "Love" Drop Cloth Pillow
[ No Sew ]

Pillows are a girls best friend! It's not diamonds. Who ever thought that up? Those splendid, delicate, soft, clouds of glory catch me every time I need them too. Think I'm wrong? Think again. When a girl feels sad, she cries on her pillow. When a girl is happy, she plops down on a pillow. When a girl is angry, she buries her face in her pillow and screams at the tippy-top of her lungs. When a girl is confessing her true feelings, she's laying on a pillow. We even we have our own kiddos. Where do you put your them? That's right, on a pillow. We ladies use pillows for everything. Not even sure why they put a diamond in the center of a ring. It should be a piece of fabric from you favorite P-O-Double L---OMG-W. Am I right, or am I right?

Faux Bois -Every Day I Love You- Sign

With Valentine's Day fast approaching, the love projects are piling up around my ears. I'm not talking about pink and red tacky decor that you want to take down the moment the big day has passed, this one purely the good stuff- decor that will work every time of year but is perfect for right now!

State L♥ve Pillow
[Happy Valentine's Day]

#pillow #statelove #massachusetts

Yes, it's nearly Valentine's Day! Almost time to tell that special someone how much you love them. Maybe you'll receive chocolates, flowers, or something special.
Do you remember what it was like in high school on V-day? Watching the most popular girl get a carnation in one class, then the next, and the next? For better or for worse, every girl waited, pretending not to care, but ready to leap out of her chair and fight each other to the death for those stupid cheap flowers. The more the other girls got, the more nerve wracking the day would get.

New Year's Bloggy Resolutions & A Survey

Hello dearest friends.
It's been nearly a week and a half since we've chatted and I have missed you terribly! I hope the holidays ended happily for you all and that all our weeks of preparation paid off. As everyone is making New Year's resolutions, I wanted to try something different. I don't usually make resolutions, since I make goals all the time. It has always seemed pointless to do so on one dedicated day. But this year was different, life has been speeding by so quickly that I've felt the need to stop and think. New Year's day Zack and I went  to a hot spring. I floated around the pools nearly all day and thought, and thought, and thought some more. (which was delightful!)

DIY Glitter Glass Ornaments

Tis the season to be jolly! And Merry! And Cheery!
All my life I have found happiness in Christmas. I think many of you probably feel the exact same way. I remember when I was a little girl, my father would take the entire family to the church and we'd listen to the Christmas message and learn about Christ. I would practically explode with anticipation as Santa would finish the night with presents and candy. It was so magical and though commercialism has saturated the market, the magic is still there. You just have to look for it in ways that bring it alive.

DIY Silver Lace Ornament

Holy cow- I just barely got out our Christmas cards today! I feel like I'm running on a treadmill to catch up with the Christmas preparation, but I'm not making much progress. So I'll make this short and sweet. I made these silver ornaments by wrapping lace around an ornament and then spray painting it all silver.

DIY Nativity Scene Glass Ornament

from Gardners 2 Bergers

Yesterday was my and Zack's anniversary! We celebrated by taking finals for like eight hours- how romantic... Actually, after working on tests we went to our favorite restaurant, Cheesecake Factory and then my darling hubby let me shop at Home Goods AND Ikea.

DIY Snow Ball Ornaments

from Gardners 2 Bergers

Did you get a chance to link up your Instagram profile at the Instagram Hop? Make sure you do, so you and I can all get linked up on Instagram!

Last year I was in the first year of my MBA program, so basically every type of crafting was put on hold. [Which is sort of like a DIY-ers torture.] Incidentally, we are heading into finally and I am dying for Christmas break!! Buuuuut the year before before school, when I ruled my life and not them, I made 5 or 6 different types of ornaments. Then, this year, I've done the same. Which means I'll be posting them all throughout this and next week!

Framing your Christmas Cards

So, I freaking love Christmas. I love the smells, the lights, the glitter, the ornaments, and the sparkles. You know what I hate?
I hate thousands of cards littering my fridge door. I especially hate when I close the door and they all fall down and scatter on my kitchen floor. I also hate that some slip under the stove, never to be seen again. I saw this DIY project on TV, where someone put all their pics in a frame, so I thought I'd give it a go. It has alleviated some my cluttered card burden and brought the cheer back to my merry heart.

DIY Stained Glass Ornaments
[Transparent & Opaque]

Christmas is here, bringing good cheer! Merry... Merry... Merry Christmas! I've been making myself merry by staining my own christmas ornaments. I'm not sure if many of you know how to stain glass bulbs, but these are quite easy to do. I wanted something to match my color scheme or blues and greens, which isn't always the easiest to find. That's why the DIY ornament is a perfect solution.
