Hello, friends! I hope you've had a wonderful weekend! Zack and I are still cranking it on the Northwest, on a big introductory trip for Weatherwood. While I'm away, I wanted to share this cute little craft! You can personalize and customize mugs with Sharpies, making them a great choice for a sentimental Father's Day gift.
If you're making your own sharpie mugs, you'll only need two things to get started:
Sharpie Oil Based Paint Marker- Fine Point
+ Coffee Mug of your choice. Make sure you get the right type of Sharpie, or else you will have a terrible smeary mess, trust me!
Sharpie Oil Based Paint Marker- Fine Point

Next, use your "skills" to to create a sharpie masterpiece! I hand drew my mugs, but you could create stencils using your cricut or silhoutte. Another option, you could use an Exacto knife to cut a stencil from contact paper, like I did in this DIY art piece here. That way your lines will be crisp and straight, and allowing you to do more creative designs, while still turning out a mug masterpiece not a DIY fail!
Finally, you need to bake your mugs for 30 min at 350 degrees to create a long-lasting design.
That's all there is to it. You still have two weeks to DIY your Dad something special.
ENJOY!
Did you hand draw the words? They looked photoshopped on.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm thrilled they look that good- I was worried it looked too "elementary school project" and not good enough to give away! So yes- they are a combo of hand drawn and stencil!
