This week's post is from a friend and Weatherwood stockist friend, April James from April James Interiors. April is a professional, certified painter and I always learn new techniques from her. She takes a brand new pine table and turns it into an authentic-looking antique. I don't know anyone who do make a brand new piece look like a textured, chippy old piece of farmhouse furniture better than April!

Weathered Gray Oak Ladder
I hope you fellow Americans had a Happy 4th of July!! Okay, I need help. For the last 8 years, I have lost 10 lbs and then grained 10 lbs, over and over thru out the year. It's not a big deal to most people, because I never get too heavy. But it's demoralizing and driving me crazy! I am so tired of wearing my fat pants, then skinny, then fat agin. I don't really think it's my workout. I love to workout, so whenever my back is up to it, I workout. That means it is most likely food, ahem,... ice cream. Does anyone have any tips? I would love to hear them.

Rustic Modern Cherry Fireplace
The metal frame for this gorgeous fireplace was custom fabricated, but I can tell you how to get this incredible color! This fireplace was made from the hardwood, cherry. You can use cherry for anything from hardwood floors, to furniture, to accent pieces like this. It was more commonly used several decades ago, so this post would be great for your old hardwood floors.

DIY Driftwood Gray Maple Hardwoods
Maple floors are less common now, because maple doesn't take traditional wood stains very well. But they were very common back in the day. You will find old maple floors, with these skinny 2" boards all over in old homes, especially in the east and mid-west. Staining maple is not a problem with our products, as you can see. Just apply stains and let them air dry! So this is a great project for your old maple flooring, to update it and bring it into the 21st century! Not to mention, this is the easiest way to stain your own flooring.
