DIY Hairspray ▪ Simple, Natural, Easy

I know, this sounds crazy, but did you know you can make your own hairspray??!! I know, I know- this is not something you would normally think to DIY, but alcohol is NOT great for our hair and now you have an alternative.

The hairspray works well and I have very thick and annoyingly wavy hair. The type of hair that will not beautifully curl, therefore I have to blow dry it or it looks crazy. You know the type?  If it works for me- it will probably work for you! OK- here's what you want to do.

Materials:

  • 1 c. Boiling Water
  • 1/2 c. Sugar
  • Essential Oil
  • Spray Bottle

Directions:

  1. Add 1c to a small saucepan and boil
  2. Add 1/2 c sugar to boiling water
  3. When water has cooled add 6-8 drops of essential oil.

That's all there is to it. So very easy. If you make it and it's too much hold, then you can add some more boiling water. If you don't have enough hold, simply add more sugar. So easy- huh? You don't have to stand in the store and decide- "extra hold" or just "hold."
