DIY Weathered Farmhouse Desk

Are you on Instagram? If you are then you will totally know what I am about to describe, Amanda is one of my Instagram crushes. You know, when you find someone who is so obviously talented and their feed is so uniquely beautiful, that you are drawn to it? An thus, you become sucked into their Instagram world, scrolling and reading and ohh-ing and ahh-ing over it and them.

She and I collaborated on a piece and this is what she decided to make. It's a sweet little farmhouse desk her husband made for her. He turned these darling store bought legs and a few pieces of lumber into a beautiful hand made, custom piece.

Amanda's hubby used some Anna White plans you can find right hereYou can pop over and print out the instruction or you can check out this step by step tutorial my good friend Ashley, from Cherished Bliss. Ashley has the in depth instructions, including blueprints, of each step.

Amanda only did one thing differently from Ashley. She made sure her entire project was from one species, in this case pine. That's because with Weatherwood, each species will turns it's own shade. Then she used Weatherwood's Reclamation to stain it. Look how pretty the detailing on that leg is!

And notice how closely the color matches the Restoration Hardware 19th C. Kerala Table! That, my friends, is awesome!

You can check out Amanda's Instagram for yourself- I was not exaggerating! [ link ] You're gonna thank me later!
