DeleteI remember when my mom use to cook STARCH on the stove. The product came in a blue box in a lump form. Did not realize it was probably a form of CORN STARCH. Mom would mix it in a large batch... adding water to achieve different strengths. My skirts were starch very stiff so when I danced and spun the skirts would flair outward... My petticoats were also starched very stiff except for the slip closest to my skin... that one would be soft...... NONNIE
