Weathered Exterior Beams

Zack and I launched another product in Forks, Wa  few weeks ago. You guys know that's one of our favorite spots in the US and we get there about yearly. This time we launched a book Zack wrote, It's called Harvest Moon. For those of you who like to keep up with us- here's the link.

But onto DIY things! I loved the look of these faux barnwood structural beams from Kimberly over at Serendipity Refined! She created the look from cedar and Weatherwood Stains! Here's how to get the look!

Materials

  • Paint Sprayer or Brush

Directions

1.] STAIN
When the wood is stripped down to raw wood, you can use an atomized gun to apply your stain. First, pour it through a strainer and then you can pour it into your atomized gun. You'll want to spray it on the wood in overlapping motions, making sure to drench the wood.

For stain we choose Reclamation stain from Weatherwood. This will give you a light weathered look, dark grays.
The wood will dry in about 30 minutes, see in the below video.

2.] SEAL
Protect exterior projects with Weatherwood Exterior Waterproofer!
