DIY Weathered Wood Beads

Have you seen the nautical wood beads that were for sale from Pottery Barn and Anthropologie? Well this week's DIY post is from a new bloggy friend, Kendra from Momtique, and she's made the perfect knock off.

I "met" Kendra on Instagram, she has one of those feeds you get totally lost in. You know what I mean? Kendra did a quick and e DIY on these gorgeous pine beads and you'll love them in her space.

Materials

  • Raw Wood Beads: you can get them at Michael's, Amazon, etc.
  • Wood Stain: Pining from Weatherwood
  • Hemp cord or twine: again, you can get them from Michaels', Amazon, etc.

Directions

There's no prep needed for this simple DIY! Just stain the wood beads using a sponge brush and Weatherwood's Pining stain. You could even dunk the beads into the stain if that's easier. Allow them to dry for one hour, then string them together using some twine for hemp rope. Something that has a natural look to it.

I love they slight gray with the wood tone coming through. No need to topcoat these, unless you think your going to be handling them a lot.

If Kendra didn't give you styling ideas for these beads, I don't know who can. I see them pop up all over her gorgeous feed and keep thinking that I need to make them myself! You will for sure want to follow Kendra on Instagram- she will blow your mind away with scenes like this ones above!
