Creating Weathered Wood Walls [the Easy Way]

Making it in the Mountains uses Weatherwood Stain for Rustic Weathered Walls

Last month I had the chance to work with fellow blogger, Kristi, from Making it in the Mountains.
She is such a doll and I loved having the opportunity to get to know her better. At the time she was involved in a 1 Room Challenge and was working frantically on her son's rustic bedroom.

Materials

  • Pine
  • Weatherwood Stains' Reclamation stain
  • Paint Brush

She knew she wanted to use Weatherwood and she wanted warm wood feature wall with a slight rustic vibe.  Pine has the fewest tannins of any wood type that you could easily find to work with. So she knew if she stained tongue & groove pine that the walls would only minimally change. You'll find her tutorial - here. -

I thought Kristi's room turned out beautifully, and I think you'll agree. She incorporated so many cute DIY projects. I really love the little details she used, like the green clock [above] and the animal coat hooks, but you'll have to check out her finished project in order to see those! ;-)
